Santa Barbara Westside

Welcome to Santa Barbara’s Westside and one of Santa Barbara’s first suburbs and one of our most populated areas. State Street runs through the middle of Santa Barbara and cuts it in half between Eastside Santa Barbara and Westside Santa Barbara. It was once farmland and grazing areas that ran from State Street area to the beach but is now the subject of much renovation and nearly every other block you will find some home being updated or rebuilt.

The Westside is very near to most transportation options including the bus but also right next to the 101 freeway for easy access for those needing to commute regularly. You will also find lots of bikes and sidewalks for walking. Just across Cabrillo Boulevard you can find West Beach and the Santa Barbara Break Water, which has many wonderful dining spots and local favorite hang outs.

The Westside is very diverse, if not one of the most diverse neighborhoods in Santa Barbara. A more recently developed host spot is the Santa Barbara Public Market, which is just down the street and is an indoor space with multiple dining options. Home buyers often choose the Westside for its proximity to jobs, Santa Barbara City College, downtown Santa Barbara, dining, and other fun activities.
